Susanne Salavati is a London-based Director of Photography, with diverse experience shooting drama and documentary in a multitude of worldwide locations. She is focused on projects that both challenge her and examine the society we live in.
Her work on feature film MY FERAL HEART received critical acclaim for its “Poetic Cinematography” (Sight & Sound), won the Audience Award for Best Feature Drama at Cinequest 2016 and was nominated for three British Independent Film Awards.
Susie received the Best Cinematography award at WIFF LA for Indian documentary UNRAVEL and also earned a Special Mention in the Best Cinematographer category at London Underwire Film Festival for short film TWITCHER.
Susie’s documentary work continues with BIFA nominated EVEN WHEN I FALL supported by Sundance, award winning BBC series WHERE IN THE WORLD and BFI backed WHITE RIOT, currently in production.
Her current range of drama projects include GHOSTED starring Alison Steadman, NIGHT BUS starring Susan Wokoma and HAYLEY ALIEN starring Karla Crome and Gemma Arterton produced by Rebel Park Productions.
She has also lit successful commercial campaigns for Benefit San Francisco, Pantene, The National Trust and Tate. She is a contributor to Getty Images and a member of international and UK based cinematography collectives the ICFC and illuminatrix.
